NUTRITION

Breckinridge Health, Inc. is fortunate to have the services of twelve dietary cooks, a dietary manager and a medical nutrition therapist in meeting the needs of preparing meals for hospitalized patients, long term care residents, staff and visitors.

All of the dietary cooks have had specialized training in food safety and many have also acquired the Serv-safe food safety sanitation certification offered by the National Restaurant Association. The Hospital's dietary manager is certified, she coordinates the day to day operations, including food orders, personnel schedules, special functions and dinners.

The medical nutrition therapist offers diet assessments, nutrition recommendations, patient and community education programs and provides an opportunity for outpatient diet counseling through a physician or health care provider referral process. She also helps the cardiac rehab and pulmonary rehab departments with nutrition counseling.

RADIOLOGY

Breckinridge Memorial's Radiology Department is considered one of the areas leading facilities for quality service, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment which help produce quick and accurate results.

Our X-Ray department services all of Breckinridge County and parts of the surrounding counties.
Every technologist is ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certified, with each technologist specializing in at least one separate modality (i.e. Mammography, CAT Scan, Ultrasound, MRI or Diagnostic Radiology).

We have recently installed a new digital x-ray room, which not only provides higher quality examinations, but also helps reduce radiation exposure to the patient. Naturally, the higher quality the examination is, the more likely the physician will be able to diagnose a problem.

Every examination that is performed at our department is then interpreted by a radiologist. Our radiologist staff is comprised of one neuroradiologist and two general radiologists and are board certified through the ACR (American College of Radiology), they are here to ensure that our patients receive best possible care.

If your physician feels that you need to have an x-ray, request to be sent to Breckinridge Memorial's x-ray department
for the most accurate diagnosis of your condition. We can ensure that you will receive the highest quality examination and our radiologists can ensure that your diagnosis will be fast and accurate.
