Cardiac Rehabilitation

Breckinridge Memorial Provides Cardiac Rehabilitation Services to the community with a modern facility using the latest in technology and equipment.  Sessions are conducted by a registered nurse, and include continuous heart monitoring.

Cardiac Rehab involves exercise, education and psychological support to make recovery from heart disease easier.  The program can begin as early as three to four weeks after heart surgery, heart attack or other disease related event.

The program is designed to strengthen the heart muscle and improve cardiovascular fitness and exercise tolerance.  The exercise sessions are three days per week and Wednesdays provide educational sessions dealing with topics related to heart disease.

Cardiac Rehabilitation programs have been scientifically proven to reduce hospital stays, increase sense of well-being and allow rapid return to regular activities.

Local physicians are familiar with the program and will be happy to discuss the benefits with you.  If you would like further information, please contact the Cardiac Rehab Manager at 756-6592.

The department hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
